Some Common Questions

Insulated windows have a 10-year warranty against fogging and a one-year labor warranty.  We warranty the hardware and seals on our shower enclosures for the product's lifetime.

Yes. A new owner of your property will have the same warranty from the date of purchase as the original owner.  The new owner will need to be able to supply the property address and previous owner's name to assist in finding the original records.

In the glazing industry, we refer to moisture entering a window as fogging.  Once the seal in a window pane breaks, air moisture will enter the pane.  Mineral deposits in the air will harden over time creating a white film on the inside of the window.  This is referred to as fogging. Once the process of fogging begins, it will only worsen until the pane is replaced.

Unfortunately not. Window panels come as factory-sealed units to prevent moisture from entering the frame and causing fogging. A proper repair includes removing both panels of glass and installing new units.

Glass in a standard window frame is held in by two systems. Between the glass and the frame, there is typically glue or tape that adheres to the glass.  Outside the glass, there is a glazing bead that locks the pane in from the outside.  Our technicians remove the bead, cut out the glass with specialty tools, and then clean the frame before installing the new glass panels.

Unfortunately, the blackening is caused by moisture getting in between the glass and the mirrored coating. The only solutions would be to replace the mirror, cut off the affected area, or add a beveled stripping to cover the area.

Safety glass is specially made glass that is either Tempered or Laminated.  Tempered glass is designed to break into small pieces to prevent serious injury in the event glass breaks. Tempered glass is typically used in showers, vehicle side windows, and window panes where required by code.  Laminated glass is two thinner pieces of glass with a sheet of plastic in between.  When the glass breaks it holes together in one piece.

Yes. When a pane of glass in an existing window is removed from the frame there are several options from tinting to energy-efficient coatings that can be used to help reduce radiant heat in a home.

Changing out all the glass in a home’s existing window frames is typically around 20-25% of the cost of new windows. An average three-bedroom house would be between $5,000 and $7,500 to do a full home depending on the types of glass used.

Yes! While rectangle shapes are easy, we can pattern any shape of glass to make a custom tape top. Circles, ovals, or any odd shape is no problem.

Under the patio door frame, there are wheel assemblies that can wear out or become filled with garbage over time.  Our technicians can remove and replace the wheels to return the door to normal operation.  In addition, should the rail on the ground be bent or missing pieces, there are cap solutions can be added as well.

Most framed windows that open and close have balance springs inside the frames that counterweight the sliding glass. Over time the springs can rust or cables break.  Our technicians can remove and replace the old units with new ones.  Many of the rods are kept in stock and can be done quickly.

Unfortunately do not do glass replacement in modern cars. However, we do make custom glass that can be used in classic cars and hot rods. We have several custom shops that we work for today.

Yes! As long as it is a flat panel, we can custom-cut a replacement to any shape!
